20. Charlie Adam Blackpool -> Liverpool (€10 m.)

The fact that Dzsudzsák is not on the list makes us wonder.

With this list, Goal.com have sided with the extremely orthodox view that Balázs's signing with Anzhi Makhachkala steers his career towards oblivion. How absurd!

Balázs should be there in #5, and there he would sit, were it not for Juve's fatal decision to sign a defending midfielder. They should have gone for the attack, really. They will certainly see their mistake before long.

Similarly, Liverpool has moved on Charlie Adam for a midfielder. A player of ability, no doubt, but couldn't they find that extra 4 mill for Dzsudzsák?

Interestingly, Goal.com treats Theo Janssen's transfer from Twente to Ajax as the highlight of Holland's transfer season. They also claim that Janssen was by far the brightest star of the Eredivisie with his goal record of 13. He definitely shines with a 3.5 million euro transfer fee, even if Dzsudzsák scored 16 for PSV this last season and sold for 14 million...

Goal.com mentions overall player ability as the primary factor to ranking transfers, while transfer fee is lower on the list.

The top 20 is revised every monday for the remainder of the transfer period.
