Last Saturday's match against Rostov brought many twists of fate. The most obvious twist of fate might be Alexandru Gaţcan's who managed to fracture the collarbone of Russian billionaire Suleyman Kerimov's pet player, Balázs Dzsudzsák.
I would think twice before crushing the bones of a Russian billionaire's pet, especially if it cost him over 14 million euros, and I was going to do it with my elbow on live television. It is exactly what Alexandru Gaţcan chose to do last Saturday, which makes the Moldova-born footballer appear a very courageous man in my eyes.
Of course, there is rationale in knocking out Hungary's finest a few days before the EURO 2012 qualifier between Moldova and Hungary, yet one thinks Gaţcan's act is a touch too drastic for the average sports fan.
At the moment, Balázs Dzsudzsák is looking into the future somewhat puzzled and with his arm tied up, which will likely stop him from doing the Mexican wave with the full house of the Puskas Stadium this Friday when Hungary beats Sweden in the next round of EURO 2012 qualifiers.
